Our region also offers great possibilities for practicing all kinds of sports the whole year round.

Besides enjoying the seaside, you can go rafting, kayaking, tubing etc. in the rivers and rapids that sweep down the mountains, especially around Marquixane, not to mention trekking, hiking, mountain climbing or the many other fun activities the region has to offer.

In winter, you can go skiing at the Font Romeu and the Les Angles, fully equipped high altitude ski stations. Down below, however, the weather remains mild. In fact, this is said to be the sunniest region in France - as confirmed by the large number of solar plates set up at the foot of the Pyrenees.

This temperate climate makes it possible to play golf all year long, both here and in nearby Spain (Girona and the Costa Brava beaches are only a one-hour drive away).

There are five golf courses in the Perpignan region: Domaine de Falgosat Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdan, Font-Romeu, Saint-Cyprien, Port Argelès and Green 66 at Villeneuve-de-la-Raho.

For horseback riding fans, Montalba has the best facilities.
